CEEED calls on Libraries, Archives, Museums and community agencies around the world to annually observe Empathy, Equity & Diversity Awareness Week, and to prioritize humility and empathy at workplace. The idea of the WEEK emerged via the Resolution at the Webinar on 'Decolonizing with Humility and Empathy in Intercultural Community Services.' Thu, Oct 27, 2022 3:00 PM EST
The purpose of the WEEK is two fold. First an introspection of the challenges (e.g. injustice) and solutions (e,g., decolonization process with EDI + Humility and Empathy), and second to recognize/celebrate the value, compassion and dedication of service providers of each and everyone in Libraries, Archives, Museums and community agencies. Hence the theme of Week 2022 is Prioritizing Humility and Empathy in the Workplace.
